Research project
The first part of research is based on capacitive segments for continuous fluid monitoring. The concept of local/global (Glocal) E-fields is introduced to detect the fluid’s level as well as the builds-up (sticky or muddy materials) effect. Builds-up effect is one of the crucial problems in capacitive level sensor (CLS). I am developing the specific design which is capable to identify the presence of sticky materials on capacitive probe, in addition to monitor the level of fluid. The advantages of the capacitive technique among others are; it’s robust, easily manufacturable and the most important ‘cost effective’.
The second part of research is the characterization of fluids by using a low cost coaxial test rig. It is important in various industries that the fluid should be a fully characterized before using in a specific application. Complex permittivity and permeability are main factors to investigate the quality of fluid with specific frequency range. The reason behind for material’s characterization is to evaluate the effect of energy store and tangent loss by using low cost test rig.
